Test Your Body pH Regularly to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Test Your Body pHAs one of the most important balances in our bodies, your pH can help you lead a healthier life, and keeping track of it can give you the knowledge you need to help keep it within a healthy range. Testing pH at home is easy, painless, and takes only minutes to get results. If you just want to keep a close eye on how your pH fluctuates, you can use something called a "pH test strip" to test your saliva or urine.

Saliva pH testing is easy and convenient. Simply stick the test strip in your mouth and wait for results. Saliva should be slightly alkaline and return results around 7.3 to 7.5. If your saliva levels seem too high or too low, wait two hours and test the pH again. If your results are constant, you may want to consider taking a pH supplement or making changes to your diet or lifestyle to regain normal balance. It is also important to limit your food and drink intake in the hours leading up to your testing.

Testing pH through urine is another option you have. By exposing the test strip to fresh urine, you can get a good idea of how well your body is metabolizing acid in your body. Naturally, urine should be slightly acidic since this is the main way your body expels the acid it can't neutralize. Urine can have a pH level as low as 6, but if it is much lower than that, it may be a sign that you have a body pH imbalance.

Each fluid in our body requires a different pH in order to function properly, but an average body pH of between 7.35 and 7.45 is considered normal. If your test for pH shows you may have an imbalance, you may want to consider taking a supplement or making changes to your diet and daily activity level to help regain a and maintain a healthy balance of body pH.
