Stress, Anger, and Frustration Coping Strategies

We all deal with stress, anger, and frustration. These emotions may be caused by many things, and it's hard to always know what's behind our emotions and find healthy ways to deal with them. Here are some ways to cope with stress, anger, and frustration in everyday life:

  • Exercising. While hanging out in front of the TV may be more comfortable, getting your blood pumping and your heart rating going is a better and healthier solution to stress, anger, and frustration. Exercising releases endorphins, which are hormones that naturally make you feel better.
  • Taking time to breathe. If you feel yourself becoming overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths or count to 10. Concentrate on nothing but inhaling and exhaling, and you may begin to feel stress melt away from you.
  • Do something enjoyable. Often, we get caught up in working, working, working, without taking a break to do something fun. Work in your garden, listen to music, read a book, or call up a friend. These activities and many others can help reduce your stress, anger, and frustration.
