Wrinkles
Around the Mouth?
How Nutrition can Help Eliminate Them
The sins of our youth wreak havoc
on our aging faces. If you’ve ever smoked, or even if you’re
a runner that tends to pucker your lips when you are breathing heavy,
you may notice wrinkles around your mouth as you get older. The
skin right around your lips is thin and put through a great deal
of motion, between eating, talking, and other normal activities,
which can leave lines and wrinkles. There are thousands of creams
on the market today that claim to erase fine lines and wrinkles;
however, short of surgery, erasing those lines completely is a difficult
feat to achieve. There are some things you can do to prevent wrinkles
from forming though, including:
- Don’t smoke – The puckering
motion of sucking, combined with the fact that smoking prevents
blood and oxygen from reaching your skin, can create the deepest
wrinkles around your mouth.
- Drink water – Water hydrates you on
a cellular level, and hydrated skin cells retain elasticity,
preventing new wrinkles from forming.
- Get plenty of sleep – When you don’t
get enough sleep, your hormones become unbalanced, which can
inhibit collagen production.
- Moisturize around your mouth – Make
sure that to apply your facial creams generously around your
mouth, it is a spot that is easy to miss.
- Apply sunscreen – The same goes for
applying sunscreen. Make sure you don’t miss the skin
around your mouth.
Once wrinkles form around your mouth, they
are difficult to get rid of. By taking some precautionary steps,
just as a normal part of your daily routine, you can stop them before
they start. The battle against aging skin is perpetual, but if you
go into battle armed with knowledge of what you are up against,
you will prevail. It also helps to try and win the battle from the
inside out. Vitamin supplements can only improve your chances of
success.
