The Natural Way to Sinus Infection Relief:
Homeopathic and Herbal Remedies

People in most civilized western countries have come to rely on modern prescription drugs for relief of almost all ailments. Plus, prescription drug cards make them less expensive than herbal, homeopathic or natural remedies which aren’t generally FDA-approved and therefore not covered by insurance.

These factors make many doctors and patients ignore information on homeopathic, herbal and natural remedies.

Although complementary and alternative medicine is on the upswing, only 19-37% of Americans have tried homeopathic or other natural remedies.

Yes, modern drugs cure many infections; vaccines can keep us healthy and have stopped many deadly plagues; and advances in surgery have greatly improved cancer survival, bone healing and organ transplant success.

But for pesky non-contagious pain and “feeling bad” that just won’t go away – like chronic sinus infection – people that lived long ago or who live in remote areas today may have it all over us when it comes to finding relief through nature and what our own bodies produce. Homeopathic, herbals and natural remedies can be used consistently for prevention, whereas we can’t take antibiotics all the time.

Homeopathic and natural remedies still have a vital and powerful place in preventive health and healing.

Patience is the key to clearing up sinus infections/chronic sinusitis once and for all. Homeopathic and natural remedies take a little longer to work than antibiotics, but will do a better job of cleansing to help prevent future infection.

Here are just a few remedies, including Växa’s own homeopathic. Note: If a heavy fungal yeast is confirmed in the sinus infection, see “fluconazoles” to “jump-start” the death of the yeast before homeopathic or natural remedies can fully work.

Växa’s Homeopathic Remedies

Växa is proud to introduce a new homeopathic product, Sinus Formula for relief of chronic sinus infections. The capsules contain multiple ingredients to clear up infectious mucus secretions, alleviate nasal, sinus and eye pressure and help to reduce vertigo (balance) problems.

For nasal irrigation, Vaxa is now offering a Neti Pot as recently seen on the Oprah TV show.

It’s also a good idea to build up your “good gut flora”- friendly bacterial colonies in the intestines which help ward off infections - by taking ReFlora+. Normally these colonies are naturally produced, but if you get sinus infections you may not have enough good bacteria.

Herbal Remedies

Powerful natural antifungal and natural antibiotic properties can be found in the following herbs and plants. These can be especially effective remedies to open sinuses and kill infection when used as follows:

Steam Formula:
  • Garlic - 1/2 clove or 500 mg capsule
  • tea tree oil - 2 drops
  • eucalyptus (found in vapor rub products) – ¼ teaspoon
  • the South American herb pau d’arco - 2 drops or half of one 500 mg capsule

Dissolve ingredients into 2 cups of boiled steaming water. Inhale deeply for 2-3 minutes twice daily until mucus loosens and expels.

Alternative or add to formula these essential oils: Combine 2-3 drops each: thyme, rosemary, and lavender.

The pot of water should be changed once each day.

    For Ingestion:
Garlic should be eaten often or, to avoid the odor, taken in tablet or capsule form. Pau d’arco is available in drops (follow directions) or capsules. Another effective herb is Olive Leaf Extract (follow directions).

    For Topical Use:
Tea tree oil in drops or creams, and eucalyptus gels are generally for external
use. Rub small dots under the nostrils, above the brow and on ear lobes. Vapors will seep into the sinuses.

    Hydrotherapy

Dip a hot cloth in the Steam Formula. Use it as alternating hot and cold compresses directly on sinus areas: 3-4 minutes hot, 30-60 seconds cold. Repeat several times/day. The vapors will penetrate.
