Siberian Eleuthero and Its Uses
Siberian eleuthero, or just eleuthero, is a potent adaptogen that is commonly used in Eastern medicine and has been for thousands of years. Incorrectly labeled and distributed as Siberian Ginseng for several years, Siberian eleuthero has been popular in modern natural medicine since the early 1960s.
Used a preventative medicine more than a way to address ailments, Siberian eleuthero is believed to have a variety of uses, including:
- As an antioxidant
- Anti-inflammatory
- Anti-fatigue and energy
- Anti-stress
- Increased immune function
Since it is such a potent and widely available adaptogen, there are several forms of Siberian eleuthero available in raw and supplement forms. These include eleuthero extract, raw eleuthero root, as a dried powder, or crushed to be used in teas and cooking.
Your health care provider or dietitian will be able to give you more information on herbal remedies and adaptogens and how then can help maintain your body's healthy reaction to stressors as well as a normal immune response.
