Qigong Healing
If you have spent time researching alternative therapies, especially those involved in Eastern medicine, chances are you have heard of qigong healing. Qigong is one of the most popular practices used throughout Chinese culture, not only in medicine but also in martial arts, meditation, and even religious ceremonies. This is because it focuses heavily on the concept of qi, or energy that each individual has. It is believed that disturbances, such as illness or injury, are caused by an imbalance in a person's qi and steps should be taken to prevent this from happening and correct it when it does.
This is where qigong healing becomes an important part of Chinese medicine. Medical qigong employs the use of breathing exercises and meditative movements to manipulate qi in order to maintain and/or regain balance.
Qigong healing is most often used for:
- General health
- Rehabilitation
- Stress management
- Arthritis
- Bone health
- Chronic pain
There are a variety of qigong techniques that are used in qigong healing, some of which involve outside elements like supplements and massage, so it is important to consult with your primary health care provider to ensure that you are healthy enough for these alternative therapies. |
