Pet Vitamin Products: Pick the One That’s Right for Your Pet

Pet VitaminWith the plethora of pet vitamin products on the market today, it can be difficult to figure out which one is best for your pet’s specific needs. As with humans, different pets have different needs, and one pet vitamin may not be fit for every member of the species. Further, pets with special needs may need special pet vitamin products. For example, older pets may need higher levels of certain nutrients that enhance joint health, and pets with recent injuries or illness need higher levels of nutrients that promote healing.

The pet vitamin that you choose not only may be tailored to the species of your pet, but it can also be tailored to specific needs. For example, Dr. Prange’s Maximum Joint Enhancer for Dogs is not only made specifically for dogs, but it is made to help with their joints. Further, many products are made with doses for specific sizes. For example, a pet vitamin may be given in a half-tablet dose for smaller dogs, while large dogs have a dose of two tablets. When looking for the right pet vitamin for your animal(s), make sure that the product gives the dosage size for your pet’s weight. Obviously if you have a toy poodle, the pet vitamin dose will be different than for a Great Dane.

Lastly, be sure that the pet vitamin you choose does not irritate any allergies your pet may have. For example, many dogs cannot handle lactose, but some pet vitamin products have this as one of their ingredients. Obviously, if your dog has lactose intolerance or another allergy, you should check the labels of all products before buying to make sure they will not aggravate this allergy.

Regardless of the pet vitamin you choose, both you and your pet can benefit from the health boost and even improved skin and fur.
