Neti Pot Instructions
Neti pot instructions have been passed from culture to culture, as people throughout the world have been using this nasal irrigation method to address sinus problems for hundreds of years. The pot, which resembles a teapot, flushes a warm sterile, salt-water solution into the sinus cavity, removing irritants and loosening mucus to provide allergy and sinus infection relief.
Using this ancient method is easy, as neti pot instructions are pretty universal no matter which kind of pot you are using:
- Mix your neti pot salt with warm distilled or sterile water until dissolved, and then put it in the neti pot.
- Stand over a sink or other receptacle and tilt your head to the side with one nostril facing up.
- While breathing through your mouth, insert the spout of the neti pot into the top nostril.
- Slowly pour the solution into your nose while still breathing through your mouth. While this may be an uncomfortable sensation at first, this will soon pass.
- Allow the solution to flow through the sinuses and out the other nostril into the receptacle.
- Repeat this process with the other nostril.
- Stand up slowly, spit out any remaining solution, and blow your nose to evacuate any remaining debris.
While these neti pot instruction may make your skin crawl, the effects of this remedy has received praise from not only health care professionals, but also almost everyone who has ever tried it. Ask your doctor about neti pot use and how it may help you if you have any questions about proper use of this great tool.
