Naturopaths
Naturopathy is one of the oldest medicinal practices that are still utilized today, and naturopaths, or practitioners of this alternative medicine, have been around for centuries. One of the first naturopaths and advocates of natural medicine was the Greek philosopher Hippocrates. Considered to be the father of medicine, he believed that the body should be treated as a whole, and not as a variety of separate parts. This coincides with the view of naturopaths that there is a connection between mind, body, and soul and that all should be taken into consideration when considering treatment.
Of all the alternative medicines that are practiced today, naturopathy -- and naturopaths -- are the most accepted by modern medicine since there alternative doctors follow many of the principles of conventional medicine, aside from their aversion to vaccinations.
Many modern doctors are beginning to also practice as naturopaths in order to give their patients a variety of options when it comes to their health. Acupuncture, proper nutrition, natural botanicals, meditation, and much more are all methods that naturopaths commonly use to address:
- Back pain
- Allergies
- Stress
- Injury
- High or low blood pressure
- Cholesterol problems
- Weight issues
- Much more
While naturopathy as a whole is generally considered to be safe, it is recommended that you research your condition and health care options before beginning a naturopathic treatment regimen. The risk of side effects is low, but there is still a possibility that you may not be healthy enough to undergo these alternative treatments or are at risk of an allergic reaction. Consulting with both naturopaths and conventional doctors will give you the best treatment options for your condition.
