Natural
Skin Care: Ingredients for a Fresh, Healthy Glow
It’s
hard to find anything as beautiful as a baby’s skin.
Soft, wrinkle-free, and radiant, a baby’s skin is
what all women hope for in their own appearance. Unfortunately,
no one has found the secret to ageless skin, but through
natural skin care techniques, there are ways to protect
your skin from damage and maintain a healthy glow.
Natural
skin care is achieved in two basic ways: by what you put
into your body and what you apply to the outside of your
skin. As far as diet is concerned, natural skin care begins
by drinking plenty of water to hydrate your skin. Along
with your water, make sure to eat plenty of colorful vegetables
and fruits, as well as whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts,
and fatty fish. The first food to avoid in your natural
skin care diet would be sugar. While sugary treats taste
great, eating too much sugar can damage collagen over time,
causing your skin to lose elasticity and sag.
The
next step to natural skin care is considering the ingredients
you apply to the outside of your skin. There is an endless
array of skin care products in the store, but you also can
find natural skin care items at home. Some examples of at-home
natural skin care topical ingredients would be ground oatmeal,
wheat germ, sour cream, yogurt, and honey, all of which
can be applied to the skin for nourishment and exfoliation.
Fruits and vegetables can also be applied to the outside
of your skin for various results. Another standard ingredient
for natural skin care is aloe vera gel straight from the
plant for hydration and soothing. A live aloe vera plant
is a must-have for those who want natural skin care for
wrinkles, burns, cuts, bug bites, and other skin ailments.
