Natural Body pH Balance through Diet, Supplements, & Testing

There are many functions that our bodies carry out without us even knowing about it, and body pH balance is one of them. Natural body pH balance is the human body’s ability to ingest many different types of foods and drinks—many of them acidic in nature—and neutralize those foods and drinks so that they do not upset our body’s pH balance. While it may sound simple, our body’s natural ability to maintain pH balance is dependent upon a complex network of cells, nutrients, and organs.

There are several things you can do to help your internal systems sustain natural body pH balance. First, you can try to eat a diet that does not leave acidic residues in your body. Alkaline-producing foods that assist your body in regulating natural body pH balance include beans, nuts, vegetables, eggs, fruits, and fruit juices. Acid-producing foods that are best consumed in moderation include breads, grains, coffee, oils, meats, fish, pasta, and alcohol.

Other ways you can regulate your natural body pH balance are by using buffer supplements and pH testing strips. Buffer supplements promote natural body pH balance by counteracting acidic residues and removing them from your body. In addition to buffer supplements, you can use pH testing strips to monitor the acidic residues in your body, letting you know when to make dietary changes so that you can return to natural body pH balance.
