Essential Amino Acids

Many things in a man’s life can deplete his body’s balanced fund of essential amino acids. A man can overwork himself, and due to lack of time and stress from work abandon exercise for smoke, drink, or overeating to cope with pressure. Any such use of chemicals, alcohol, or unhealthy food depletes the essential amino acids the body needs for optimal mindset, health, vitality, sexual performance, and productivity on the job. Any injury further depletes the body’s supply of essential amino acids because the natural healing process uses them to rebuild muscle, bone, and tissue. A period of illness causes a similar setback as the body draws upon its fund of amino acids to restore strength and mobility.

To understand more fully the nature of this problem and the scope of its affects, it is necessary that we first understand the term “essential amino acids”.

Simply stated, they are the chemical building blocks of all hormones and proteins. Protein substances make up the muscles, tendons, organs, glands, nails, and hair. Growth, repair, and maintenance of all cells depend on them, and next to water these chemical compounds constitute the greatest part of a man’s body weight.

As such, essential amino acids play a fundamental role in body chemistry.

During exercise, the body depends on them to supply the necessary energy for a workout and to build muscles with protein. Sexual performance requires stamina, and essential amino acids help contribute to stamina. They also play a vital role in neurotransmission between the brain, central nervous system, and the organs, muscles, and limbs of the body. As active agents in our brain chemistry, they influence our ability to control our emotions, and they help us to avoid mood fluctuations that can motivate us to react to life’s challenges irrationally and inappropriately.

On a daily basis, essential amino acids help maintain our bodies with optimal health and vitality. They contribute to firm muscle tone, reproduction of bone and muscle tissue, healthy hair, smoother skin, and an overall, more youthful appearance. They also supply energy for daily exercise and work, both of which produce better results for us when we maintain consistent forward motion with confident, positive attitudes.

Essential amino acids are truly essential to healthy emotions and a healthy body full of life.

It is natural for the body to deplete its balance fund of these vital chemical compounds during the course of normal activity. Problems arise when stress or unforeseen challenges require more amino acids than we naturally produce, thus creating biological deficits within our bodies.

It becomes readily apparent that if we do not maintain a balanced fund at all times, any number of the following conditions could appear in our lives and affect our behavior and productivity:

  • Mood swings
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Sore muscles after only light muscle strain
  • Decreased sexual stamina and/or desire for sexual activity
  • Our metaphorically famous “Going into the Cave” syndrome
The good news about this is we don’t have to blame ourselves as men for these conditions and/or behaviors, nor do we have to waste time looking for something or someone else to blame.

We simply have to take positive, responsible, simple steps to help replenish our natural supply of essential amino acids to a normal, self-sustaining balance that will help the body course correct and better work toward its highest potential.
