Cause
of Alzheimers Disease: Looking for Answers
Doctors do not know yet exactly
what the cause of Alzheimers disease is; however, there has been
much research in recent years that points to various contributing
factors. The research done on the brains of those deceased from
Alzheimers disease, combined with other genetic testing, environmental
tracking, and other forms of research have given more clues as to
what could be contributing to the development of Alzheimers disease,
including the following:
- Genetics
- Age
- Nerve plaques and tangles within the brain
neurons
- Lifestyle including head trauma, alcohol/drug
use and more
As medical research continues, more information
and understanding about what causes Alzheimers disease will become
known. With this knowledge will come possible medicines to help
slow the progress, or even stop the disease altogether.
