Jiaoguan Herb as an Adaptogen
The jiaoguan herb comes from an herbaceous vine that is in the same family as cucumbers and gourds. It is a common component of Chinese medicine, and is often referred to as the "immortality herb" by the people who live it its native southern China, where many inhabitants attribute the above-average lifespan of the region to jiaoguan herb tea.
Like many adaptogenic herbs, research on the jiaoguan herb first began in order to find a less expensive alternative to ginseng. Jiaoguan herb has also been found to be one of the more powerful adaptogens, and also may have antioxidant properties. Jiaoguan herb is used regularly in Eastern medicine and homeopathy because it is believed to:
