Thyroidinum (Thyroid Gland, Thyroid Extract)
Thyroidinum, or Thyroid
Extract, is usually made from the thyroid glands of animals.
After the animal is freshly put down (usually a pig, sheep,
or cow) the thyroid gland is removed, examined to ensure health,
then dried and powdered to create Thyroid Extract. Thyroidinum,
or Thyroid Extract, has reportedly been used to treat underactive
thyroid gland problems for more than 100 years.
