Sucrose
Sucrose is a simple sugar often
derived from sugar cane or sugar beets, (C12H22O11, mol wt 342.20).
Sucrose has very effective moisturizing abilities, being highly
hygroscopic for the skin when used in an herbal-based cosmeceutical
such as Vaxa-Spa. Sucrose moisturizes deeply, having some penetrating
abilities when used with free form amino acids (i.e. Vaxa's
Trademarked Aminosomes), and Sucrose is effective with other
moisturizers such as alpha hydroxy acids, often making them
more responsive, longer lasting and more therapeutic. Sucrose
is broken down by sucrase.
