Streptococcus thermophilus, S. faicuim
The Streptococcus thermophilus
and S. faicuim bacteria are not the same species which many
may know cause Strep Throat (i.e., A. strepococcal pharyngotonsillitis).
Rather, Streptococcus thermophilus and S. faicuim are some of
the friendly bacteria which naturally inhabit the digestive
tract, and most particularly the colon, making possible the
digestion of foods into their constituent parts as well as aiding
in the manufacturing of B vitamins and cofactors. These bacteria
are also beneficial for aiding in the necessary destruction
of putrefactive bacteria (i.e., the unfriendly ones).
