Sorbitan Stearate
Sorbitan fatty acids and their
esters are partial esters of the common fatty acids (lauric,
palmitic, stearic and oleic acids derived from sorbitol (NB.
Sorbitol, a sugar, was first found in the ripe berries of the
mountain ash and many other berries including cherries, plums,
pears apples seaweed and algae.) Sorbitan Stearate, which is
a fatty acid ester, is useful in forming creams and gels which
will protect the skin from losing moisture as well as providing
simple fatty acids for the skin and acts as a humectant, having
