Shark Cartilage (100% Pure New Zealand Shark Carti)
Shark Cartilage has been found to contain a particular protein complex.
Dr. Robert Langer of MIT, who in reporting in Science, Vol 235, Jan 1989,
found that it "contains a substance that strongly inhibits the growth of
new blood vessels towards solid tumors (called angiogenesis inhibition),
thereby restricting growth."
Further it has been reported by I. William
Lane, Ph.D., in Therapeutic benefits of Shark Cartilage -- A Research
Summary, Journal of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association,
November 1991-January 1992, vol 10, No.4., that "a protein in the
cartilagineous skeleton of the shark has been shown to inhibit the ability
of a tumor to generate blood vessels needed to feed it." It is rich in
glycosaminoglycans (or mucopolysaccharides) and chondroitin sulfates.
