Pycnogenol (Oligomeric proanthocyanidins)
Punica granatum, more commonly
known as the Common Pomegranate, is widely cultivated in mild
climates, providing a mild to pungent fruit. The bark of Punica
granatum is dried and is found to be anthelmintic, and a teniafuge,
used intermittently for fever, diarrhea, night sweats. The root
bark of the pomegranate tree is especially effective against
parasites, being highly toxic to tape worms. Punica granatum
contains the alkaloids pelletierine and granatonine.
