Peptides
Often called small digestibles,
peptides are hydrolytic fragments of original proteins containing
a small chain of amino acids. For this reason, the link between
two amino acid residues is called a peptide bond or an amide
bond. Peptides are divided into different classes, including
ribosomal peptides, nonribosomal peptides, peptones, and peptide
fragments.
