Papain is a digestive enzyme derived
from the Papaya fruit capable of cleaving proteins and peptides
into free form amino acids, which are necessary for effective
digestion. Papain also is useful in eliminating thread worms
and round worms in the gastrointestinal tract by simply digesting
them. For this reason, Papain is often used to get rid of parasites.
