Lactic Acid
Lactic acid, which is alternately
called milk acid, is one of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Most widely
known for its role in and excess production during intense exercise,
lactic acid is produced naturally in the body. It can also be
fermented from lactose. However, this substance is also a natural
moisturizer inherent within the skin when we are young. Lactic
acid is also used as a preservative in some processed foods.
For more information see Alpha Hydroxy Acids.
