Kelp
Kelp is one of many forms of seaweed.
Rich in iodine, kelp is often prescribed to aid in the treatment
of heavy metal pollutants and to prevent the absorption of radioactive
elements. This plant is also recommended for thyroid disorders.
Kelp is quite high in vitamins and minerals, especially iodine,
potassium, sodium, calcium, phosphorus and iron, as well as
magnesium. Further, kelp is often used to stimulate the thyroid,
increase energy, and encourage weight loss. See Bladderwrack
for more information. This ingredient may also reduce the risk
of certain cancers, including breast cancer. There is evidence
that kelp aids with digestive problems.
