Goldenseal (Goldenseal Root, Ranunculaceae, Hydras
Goldenseal, which is often referred
to as Orange-root, is a multipurpose herb that contains berberine
alkaloid, a natural antibiotic which in itself has been found
to be exceptionally effective in the relief of colds and fevers,
as well as eradicating a number of toxins, heavy metals, free
radicals and foreign wastes from the body. Cosmetically, goldenseal
has value soothing broken, roughened, and even blistered skin.
Further, Goldenseal can reduce canker sores when it is gargled,
and can be taken to aid in digestion or as a laxative.
