EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)
Eicosapentaenoic Acid is one of
the principal omega-3 fatty acids. Abbreviated as EPA, this
ingredient is found naturally in the body. However, the body
has a limited ability to manufacture EPA by converting the non-essential
alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) which is found in flaxseed oil, canola
oil or walnuts. Eicosapentaenoic Acid is also found in high
amounts in fish. This ingredient is used for a wide variety
of health issues, including asthma, Lupus, arthritis, high cholesterol,
Chron's Disease, and more. EPA is said to be an anti-inflammatory,
and to boost the immune system. It also promotes cardiac health
and may prevent heart attacks and strokes.
