Digitalis purpurea (Purple Foxglove)
Digitalis purpurea may be used as a
Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical).
Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to
the electromagnetic signatures of the original substrate; these
are scientifically created dilutions and succussions of medicines
such that generally not even a molecule of the original substrate
or medicine is present in the medicine.
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional, Digitalis
purpurea has demonstrated effectiveness against the following
symptomology: pulse is slow or irregular, intermittent, least
movement produces violent palpitation; -feeling of exhaustion,
faintness, extreme prostration; -desire to take a deep breath
which partially relieves sensation of suffocation; -useful when
heart is dilated; in cardiac asthenia, in conditions of "tired
heart" when action is irregular, pulse slow and feeble venous
system engorged, general lividity; -cardiac dropsy, cannot lie
down, obliged to sit up; -mitral regurgitation, often aortic
valve is involved (Blackwood).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional, Digitalis
purpurea has demonstrated special effectiveness against certain
dysfunctions of the eye including the following symptomology:
"In glaucoma, when tension and chromatopsia are more marked
than neuralgia pain, we have another candidate for honors here
in the shape of Digitalis...those under its influence complained
that their sight was dim and indistinct or that the coloring
of objects was altered or that all things appeared as if covered
with snow and face assumed a corpse-like whiteness; motes floated
before the sight which on covering and pressing the eyes appeared
as sparks; then flashes and balls of fire were seen and objects
appeared brilliant with a fiery halo around them. If use of
the drug were pushed blindness might occur...the sense of pressure
in the eyeballs which accompanied the initial symptoms being
exchanged for throbbing pain and sense of fullness and enlargement...The
suggestion in all this of early glaucoma must be admitted to
be very strong and I think it ought to lead to practical results
