Diazolidinyl urea
Diazolidinyl urea is an organic
derivative that comes from plants. This ingredient is nonirritating
and is useful in preserving topical lotions and creams, preventing
bacterial growth, as well as fungi and yeasts. Diazolidinyl
urea is used in such products as body washes, shampoos, bubble
baths, and commonly used detergents, including laundry detergent.
This ingredient is also said to have antibacterial properties
and is sometimes used as a disinfectant. In a small percentage
of people, diazolidinyl urea may cause an allergic reaction
or may simply irritate the skin.
