Cornflower
Native to parts of Europe but
rapidly disappearing, this wisp of a flower is thought to be
useful in the caring of dry and sensitive skin, allowing the
dermis to become moist without becoming oily. Cornflower is
thought to gently soothe patchiness caused by windburn and too
much sun while aiding in the skin's circulation, aiding in the
temporary reduction of wrinkles by simply helping the skin protect
against moisture loss. Cornflower has also been used for conjunctivitis
and as an eye wash. Historically, this ingredient has been used
to alleviate bruises and as an antivenom. Further, cornflower
is said to have antiseptic and diuretic properties.
