Cinchona Calisaya (Cinchona officinalis, Yellowbar
Cinchona calisaya is a South American
tree that produces a number of alkaloids, among which quinine,
quinidine, cinchonine and cinchonidine are the principle phytomedicinals.
Indeed, this tree possesses the same antiviral, antimalarial,
antipyretic properties and activity as the synthetically produced
quinine and was the primary source prior to the development
of the synthetic drug. Most microorganisms, such as infusoria,
are quickly killed by Chinchona.
As a historical note, before the discovery of synthetic quinine,
exports of Cinchona bark from South America to Europe and the
United States numbered in the millions of pounds each year.
Cinchona is very safe and nontoxic, being used as an ingredient
in ice cream, baked goods, condiments, soft drinks and candy
even to this day.
Used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional.
(Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and efficacy
to the electromagnetic signatures of the original substrate;
these are scientifically created dilutions and succussions of
medicines such that generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional, it has
demonstrated effectiveness against the following symptomology:
neuralgia, Gallstone colic, impotence, disorders of the live,
varicose veins, and a variety of fevers. (Clarke)
