Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO, cis-9-Cetyl Myristoleate)
CMO, which is an abbreviated way
of saying Cetyl Myristoleate or Cetyl-M, is ester of a fatty
acid produced in the bodies of humans and some animals. Recent
reports indicate that CMO may provide some relief for arthritis
and help protect against arthritic incidence. It is purported
that CMO acts to lubricate joints and reduce inflammation, and
even may lubricate the body as a whole, serving to help muscles
and tendons work smoothly. CMO also appears capable of correcting
certain immune dysfunctions which may cause arthritic conditions.
Interestingly, the use of tobacco and caseinated beverages appears
to hamper CMO's results. This ingredient is offered in a variety
of forms, from creams to capsules.
