Caseinate (Calcium Caseinate, Casein)
Caseinate is one of the most important
milk proteins there is, digestible by most mammals throughout
life, being a staple in many countries of the world, serving
as an important source of protein for growth and maintenance.
Recently, research on diabetes has demonstrated the importance
of supplying casein to the diet. Indeed, newly published research
indicates that there is now good and compelling reason to supply
the body with milk-based proteins, especially those which are
predominantly Casein in nature like those contained within the
Systemex.
In this French study originating from the Sainte-Marguerite
Hospital in Marseille, a diet rich in Casein appears to actually
protect subjects (non-obese mice who have a genetic predisposition
for developing diabetes: NOD mice) from developing diabetes
and then passing it on to their young. Specifically, Casein
fed female NOD-mice were protected against spontaneous diabetes
and male NOD-mice against acute Cyclosphosphamide or Cy-induced
diabetes, while the severity of insulitis was also lessened.Interestingly,
egg-based (albumin) proteins and other hydrolysed proteins did
not demonstrate this "protective" effect: Subjects fed albumin
based proteins developed insulitis in 10 weeks.
This is yet another strong reason for those who have a family
history of diabetes, especially pregnant or lactating women
and children, to supplement with Vaxa's Systemex & TriCardia+,
a nutritiously complete safe protein supplement which is based
primarily on the benefits of Casein protein. Moreover, Casein
has been found to exhibit the highest ratio of Total Essential
Amino Acids to Total Nitrogen of all foods and proteins reported
by the FAO/WHO Expert Group.
The specific amino acid configuration of Casein just mentioned,
appears to effectively compete against the inflammatory cytokines
response produced by the lymphocytes of Immune System mentioned
earlier, and may even reduce or circumvent the possibility of
such an aberrant response, protecting beta cell integrity within
the pancreas and the subsequent production of insulin from amino
acids derived from its structure. No other changes in the Immune
System could account for these results. Such may also allow
or ensure ﬣell "rest," a treatment strategy now of medical preference.
The good news is, that with appropriate medical and nutritional
support of the Immune System, and early detection, diabetes
may be controlled and possibly even prevented. Also of importance
to women in the combating of osteoporosis, as well as cardiovascular
patients, the ability of casein to form nanoclusters in milk
suggests a more general mechanism for avoiding pathological
calcification and regulating calcium flow in tissues and biological
fluids exposed to or containing high concentrations of calcium.
Thus milk casein may help stop the leeching of calcium from
bones, and thus stop the pathological calcified buildup in soft
tissues, regulating the amount of calcium dispersed within the
veins and arteries.
