carrot oil is used in many skin products, such as suntan oil
and lotions. Not only does it help moisturize, but it adds color
to the product as well, and is said to promote skin tanning.
Carrot oil is often used in cosmetic products, especially hair
products, as it moisturizes, adds shine, and strengthens. This
ingredient is said to contain high levels of antioxidants and
carotenoids, including beta-carotene. Carrot oil is also used
as a fragrance. Studies with lab animals have shown hepatoprotective
and hypotensive properties, but these studies have not been
confirmed for humans.
