Capsaicin
Capsaicin is a very effective
herb and hot pepper which is used to relieve pain when applied
topically or when taken internally. It is thought to interrupt
the pain signal through a process of reversible desensitization.
Over 30 years of recent research has demonstrated that capsaicin,
the biological active component of capsicum, appears to desensitize
sensory receptors on cells, and thus effectively blocks pain
signals from being processed. (Capsaicin in the Study of Pain,
John Wood, Academic Press, Harcourt Brace, New York, 1993) Capsicum
has other attributes.
Capsaicin may be used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a micro-nutritional
(botanical). Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and
efficacy to the electromagnetic signatures of the original substrate;
these are scientifically created dilutions and succussions of
medicines such that generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine.
