Aralia mandschurica is a hardy
type of small tree or flowering shrub found in parts of Asia,
specifically lowlands and hills in Japan, China, Korea, and
Manchuria. Aralia mandschurica is commonly referred to as the
Manchurian Angelica Tree. Derivatives of the bark and roots
are often used in homeopathic medicine. Aralia mandschurica
is said to stimulate the central nervous system, thereby enhancing
mental acuity. Use of this ingredient is said to result in increased
memory, vigor, and faster mental processing. Aralia mandschurica
is also said to stimulate the appetite. The young shoots of
aralia mandschurica can be cooked and eaten, as well as blanched
