Ways to Build a Strong Immune System
The
body’s immune system needs to be strong in order to
keep us at our ultimate health. Our immune system, which
is made up of various types of cells, helps ward off parasites,
bacteria and all things bad. If we don’t build a strong
immune system, we become susceptible to infections and germs.
Still, our bad eating habits, lack of exercise, level of
stress and polluted environment are hurting our immune systems
more than ever.
This is why we must maintain a good, healthy lifestyle in
order to build a strong immune system and live better. These
are a few ways to build that immune system up:
Eating
well—a balanced diet is key to build a strong immune
system. Filling your diet with fruits and vegetables helps
build the immune system with essential vitamins and minerals.
Having these vitamins and minerals in our system helps ward
off infections and diseases. Foods like lean meat, low-fat
dairy products, beans and fish are all great foods to build
a strong immune system. Spinach, carrots, cheese and eggs
should also be consumed on a regular basis.
- Plenty of rest—with our busy schedules, sleep
is sometimes hard to come by. Still, in order to build
a strong immune system, sleep is vital. We need to rest
in order for our bodies and minds to recuperate from the
daily stressors. During our deep sleep, our bodies release
immune-enhancing substances that build up our immune system.
- Exercise—although it sounds great to sleep in
when morning comes or plop in front of the television
after work, exercise is another key item in your goal
to build a strong immune system. An exercise program,
low in impact, for up to 30 minutes several days a week
will help build that immune system up.
- Water—drinking six to eight glasses a day to build
up the immune system is recommended.
Our immune
system keeps us on the go. Keeping it healthy is essential.
