Stress Management Techniques for Test Taking
No matter how hard you study sometimes it is hard to shake those test taking nerves. For a student, taking an exam can be stressful and down right frightening. Here are some tips to help you deal with test taking anxiety.
- Be prepared for the test. Schedule studying over a few days or weeks
- Get a good night’s sleep before the test
- Arrive early to class or to the testing facility
- Keep a positive attitude that will set yourself up for success
- Jot down any important formulas or facts in the margins so you don’t worry about forgetting them
- Read the directions carefully and be strategic. Start with the easy questions first and work you way to the tougher ones.
- Circle, underline, star, key words and phrases to help you focus exactly what the question is asking.
