Don't be Afraid to Talk to your Doctor!
Most
wives and partners will tell you that dealing with the drama
of a husband with the flu is far worse than cleaning up after
and caring for her children with the same illness. Research
shows that men can be much more private about their health
when it comes to more serious conditions.
Doctors report that few male patients are willing to talk
with them or their spouses about prostate problems, which
can start out with frequent trips to the bathroom, difficulty
urinating, even though the urge to urinate is very strong,
and a weak urine stream. All of these symptoms can mean anything
from benign prostate gland enlargement to prostatitis (whose
hallmark symptom is a burning pain that accompanies urination).
It's likely that men ignore these problems hoping they don't
indicate a significant problem, or that the problem will simply
disappear. When faced with any troubling symptoms, men are
well advised to go see a doctor to rule out any major problems.
