Healthy Advice From VÄXA
Eat more Veggies!
Turns
out, Mom was right again. Eating your fruits and veggies really
is good for you.
According to a new study published in the April 2008 edition
of the Journal of School Health, students who consume a higher-quality
diet containing more fruits and vegetables and less dietary
fat than their peers were significantly less likely to fail
assessments.
The study, which surveyed 5,000 fifth-grade students in Nova
Scotia, Canada, lends credence to the theory that diet quality
can significantly impact academic performance.
"In light of the current childhood overweight epidemic and
underlying poor dietary habits, prevention is a public health
priority. Our findings suggest enhanced learning as an additional
benefit of a healthy diet in childhood, said the study's lead
researcher, Dr. Paul J. Veugelers of the University of Alberta
in Edmonton. These findings support the broader implementation
and investment in effective school nutrition programs that
have the potential to improve student's diet quality, academic
performance, and, over the long term, their health."
If your little Einstein isn't a huge fan of veggies, try supplementing
with VÄXA Greens, a superfoods and super
greens drink. Superfoods are nutrient-dense, whole-food concentrates
and extracts designed to maximize nutritional yield while
eliminating the need for mass volumes. VÄXA Greens is an advanced,
synergistic blend of Phyto-Nutrient Complex concentrates,
containing more than 50 superfoods that provide you with naturally
occurring vitamins, minerals, enzymes, protein, algae, functional
foods, and more.
Drinking just one serving of VÄXA Greens
in the beverage of your choice (we recommend organic juice
or just plain water) is the nutritional equivalent of eating
five whole mixed greens salads. |
