Flora Balance
The world is already topsy-turvy
without a person having to deal with an unbalanced intestine. This
is why having a healthy flora balance is ideal for a happy life
and happy digestive system.
Flora, friendly bacteria, lives
in the digestive tract and is useful in keeping a person healthy.
Most of the flora in the colon is made up of bacteria, and although
a person can live without it, having a good flora balance can be
useful for the body. If a person does not have a good flora balance,
it can lead to a variety of ailments.
According to Dr. John Harvey
Kellogg, a healthy flora balance is achieved when the colon has
85 percent friendly bacteria and no more than 15 percent unfriendly
bacteria. But in reality, most people have the opposite in their
system. This is due to the type of diet we keep. Foods that move
slowly in the colon and feed unhealthy bacteria are meat, fish,
eggs, and pasteurized dairy products.
For a good flora balance you
should not ingest yeast, sugar, dairy, white flour, fried food or
red meat. You should also stay away from tea, coffee and chocolate,
but eat plenty of carbohydrates and foods low in fat. Vegetables
and fruit are also essential for a good flora balance.
