Fatigue Causes - Why Are You So Tired?

Fatigue CausesFatigue is something with which most adults are far too familiar. Between work, family, and other daily challenges, people are often left feeling run down and restless day in and day out. What many people don't realize, however, is that fatigue causes are far more complicated than just being a busy person. In many cases, fatigue may be treatable and even preventable.

Like most other conditions, causes of fatigue vary from person to person. What leaves one person feeling completely out of it may hardly even affect someone else. However, there are a few common causes that people can keep an eye on in order to avoid feeling so sluggish:

  • Nutrition - Eating a balanced, healthy diet is an easy way to not only combat fatigue, but also maintain a healthy lifestyle in general.
  • Sleep - This may seem obvious, but not getting enough restful sleep is a leading cause of low energy. This may be due to poor sleep habits, sleep disorders, not getting enough, or even getting too much sleep.
  • Stress - While it may seem like stress only affects your mind, it also can have a huge effect on your body as well. A stressed mind almost always equals a stressed body, and practicing relaxation techniques to lower your stress level may help combat your fatigue.
  • Other health issues - Hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems, chronic fatigue, and many other health conditions may be causing you to feel unnecessarily tired.

These are just some fatigue causes that may be making you feel like all the sleep in the world could never help you out. If you are experiencing fatigue symptoms more than a few times a week or they are accompanied by other symptoms such as sore muscles, stiff joints, headaches, or more, you may be suffering from chronic fatigue. Consult with your health care provider to help determine your fatigue causes and work to figure out how you can feel more rested each day.
