Eczema and Homeopathy
One of the most common conditions that people turn to homeopathy to provide relief is eczema. Since it is considered to be the result of an immune imbalance, like psoriasis and other skin conditions, eczema is a perfect candidate for classical homeopathy because it addresses a variety of causes for the condition.
Eczema is a painful and uncomfortable skin condition that results in itching or burning skin, redness, ulcers, and scaling. Conventional treatments -- like antibiotics, cortisone cream, and antihistamines -- only suppress the symptoms and don't treat the root cause of eczema. Homeopathy, on the other hand, considers the person as a whole and not just a collection of symptoms, more effectively getting to the bottom of what is causing the condition.
Eczema is often treated with homeopathy because it is:
- Safe - There are very few, if any, side effects associated with homeopathy, and it is even considered to be safe to use on children, unlike many conventional treatments.
- Effective - Since homeopathy treats the entire person and not just the symptoms, eczema treated with homeopathy has been shown to be less likely to flair up and is oftentimes much less severe if it does.
- Affordable - A common misconception is that homeopathy is expensive, but when compared to pricey doctors' visits, tests, and medication, homeopathy is actually quite affordable.
Even though homeopathy is considered to be safe and effective, it is still important to consult with your primary care provider before beginning an eczema homeopathy treatment, and to also seek the advice of an experienced homeopath to determine proper homeopathic remedies and dosage for your individual needs.
