Chinese Medicine and Fertility
One of the many issues that people turn to Chinese medicine for is fertility problems. Though there isn't much scientific evidence to back up the claims that this Eastern medicine can help couples conceive, people throughout Asia and parts of Europe have been using these techniques for many years.
The theory behind Chinese medicine and fertility is that since Eastern medicine focuses on the entire patient, there is a greater chance that condition that is causing the infertility will be relieved.
The common practices used for fertility are usually herbal medicine and acupuncture. It is believed, from traditional Chinese medicine, that infertility is a result of an imbalance with the kidney zang organ. In order to restore balance, the practitioner would create herbal remedies and focus acupuncture on areas that would benefit the qi balance of the kidney. It has been found in conventional medicine that there is a connection between kidney function and fertility, since kidney function on pH balance can have a huge effect on fertility.
If you are considering Chinese medicine for help with your fertility issues, it is important that you still consult with your primary care provider to ensure you are healthy enough for alternative therapies.
