Ashwagandha Side Effects
Like most all-natural adaptogens and supplements, ashwagandha root and herb usually present very few side effects for most people. Since they are generally unprocessed, the likelihood of having a reaction or experience adverse side effects to most natural supplements is very low.
Although it's important to recognize that not everyone reacts the same way to the substance, Ashwagandha side effects are few and far between. Even with heavy dosage, the most common complains people report include:
- Drowsiness. This can usually be relieved by taking ashwagandha supplements with a meal and to avoid use when activities are planned.
- Flatulence. By taking antacids in conjunction with ashwagandha, this side effect can often be reduced or even avoided altogether.
Outside of the aforementioned side effects, few problems have been reported. However, as with any supplement or new health regimen, it is important to talk to your doctor to make sure there are no underlying problems that may cause complications for you and your general health.
