Anti Aging Treatment Options: Are Any Right for You?

In the battle to prevent and repair the growing signs of aging on their skin, many men and women will try anything to stop the hands of time. With new medical innovations, those same men and women will spend millions of dollars trying to find that sure-fire solution to looking younger. Sometimes eating the right anti-inflammatory foods, which help prevent premature aging, isn’t fast enough; sometimes people want an anti aging treatment that will provide them with a quick fix.

An anti aging treatment can sometimes be painful, expensive, inconvenient and ineffective; still the thought of a quick-fix is a huge lure. These are a few of the most popular anti-aging treatment options available today:

  • Botox—this anti aging treatment was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2002 for the treatment of moderate and severe frown lines and brow lines for those ages 18 to 65. It has been utilized for more than 17 years for various medical conditions. A physician will administer the Botox solution through tiny injections on the muscles responsible for frowning, etc. Botox prevents the muscles from contracting when a person makes a certain expression and this prevents the lines from forming.
  • Restylane—is a cosmetic dermal filler that restores the lost volume in the facial wrinkles and folds that form by your nose and mouth. This anti aging treatment is also done via tiny injections and can last at least six months. Restylane was also approved by the FDA for the treatment of the nasolabial folds.
  • Laser Treatments—these are generally used by those who don’t want to have an invasive procedure. Pulses of light are administered to the selected area while lasers penetrate the skin’s deeper layers. Some of these treatments require a social downtime while the skin recuperates. This anti aging treatment can be used in conjunction with Botox or Restylane.
  • Homeopathic Medicinal—when the body doesn’t receive the appropriate nutrients, i.e. antioxidants, from foods, an alternative would be to take a homeopathic medicinal as an anti aging treatment. Some homeopathic medicinal anti aging treatments work to help improve the skin’s elasticity and suppleness; reduce wrinkling and sagging; help nutrients make their way to the skin in order to moisturize it; and remove toxins from the skin.
Still, if you don’t want to go to certain extremes, stick to a diet filled with antioxidant foods. Tomatoes, berries, potatoes, fish, milk and other dairy foods will slowly but surely provide you with an effective anti aging treatment.
