Eye
Allergy Relief
Regardless of whether you’re
set off by pet dander, pollen, dust, or anything else, getting eye
allergy relief can seem almost impossible. Thankfully, there are
some steps you can take to reduce your symptoms and bring you one
step closer to freedom from the swollen red eyes, runny nose, sneezing,
coughing, headache, and itchiness.
For indoor allergies, the best method is also the most obvious:
clean thoroughly and often. Investing in a HEPA filter vacuum can
help significantly, since it captures smaller particles and is more
efficient than regular vacuums. If you’re allergic to mold
and mildew, frequently cleaning the bathroom and keeping humidity
down can inhibit the growth of your allergen. Also consider fixing
any plumbing leaks, since mold grows well in dark, moist, warm environments.
Although you can’t totally avoid the pollen and mold that
triggers symptoms of outdoor allergies, you can get some eye allergy
relief by staying away from freshly cut grass and other areas where
pollen has been stirred up. Wearing wraparound sunglasses can also
provide a barrier between floating allergens and your eyes, while
regularly replacing your air conditioner’s filter with a high-efficiency
model can help keep allergens from getting into your home.
