Aging
Skin and What Makes You Age Faster
Aging skin goes along with getting older;
no mystery there. But if you look around a room of 60-year olds,
some will look younger and some will look older than others.
The skin aging process is affected by your genetics. What does your
mother or grandmother look like? It is likely your skin aging process
will be similar to theirs. You have little control over what your
genes dictate, but you can control the factors that act on aging
skin.
Aging skin is easily achieved if you smoke. Cigarette smoke causes
an increase in skin wrinkles since it depletes your body of vitamin
C, which keeps your skin moist. Worshipping the sun is also a good
way to accelerate skin aging.
Skin is also affected by exposure to cold weather, since it can
dry out the skin. Alcohol use, stress and lack of sleep also worsen
aging skin.
