Schizandra
Chinensis Adaoptogen
These Schizandra chinensis berries
were popular back in the Chinese dynasty days because it was believed
that they kept people radiant. Native to East Asia, these berries
go by various names—Magnolia Vine, Wu Wei Zi and O Mi Cha.
Schizandra chinensis can be found in China, Japan, Korea and in
some parts of Russia. These special, tart berries are also known as adaptogens. Adaptogens are substances
that help reduce anxiety, stress and fatigue.
There are a number of ways to consume Schizandra chinensis, one
of which is as tea. The ripe berries are said to produce a wonderful
flavor, along with their many health benefits. Also, depending on
your gender, different herb combinations are recommended to blend
with the Schizandra chinensis berries.
Before you add this herb, or any other new supplement, to your health regimen it is important to speak with your health care provider in order to identify any serious health concerns, possible allergies, and reactions to other medications.
