Russian
Adaptogens and What They Can Do for You
Although adaptogens come from
plants grown all over the world, Russian adaptogens have received
a good deal of attention over the years. Russian adaptogens, like
all adaptogens, are agents found in plants and herbs. These agents
have been found to help people balance their body and mind. Russian
adaptogens help beings adapt to the stresses and changes life can
throw at them.
There is a vast assortment of Russian adaptogens for people to choose
from that are thought to help improve a person’s health in
numerous ways. These are some of the Russian adaptogens:
- Rhodiola rosea—one
of the Russian adaptogens that can be found growing in some
of the coldest environments on earth. It grows in the Alps,
Scandinavia, Iceland and the Arctic. It was used for centuries
to help the people of Siberia cope with the climate and the
stress the climate caused them. It is thought to help lessen
fatigue, improve mental performance and lessen recovery time.
It is known as “golden root” in Russia.
- Eleutherococcus—this
is one of the most powerful and most potent of the Russian adaptogens.
Aside from Russia, it can be found growing in East Asia, China
and Japan. Like other Russian adaptogens, this helps improve
memory and strengthen the immune system, but it is also thought
to prevent inflammation, normalize body function and increase
endurance.
- Glycyrrhiza uralensis—one
of the Russian adaptogens that blooms from June through August.
Although a member of the Russian adaptogens, it can also be
found growing and blooming in Iran, Afghanistan, Western Siberia
and Central Asia, among other locations. It is thought to help
increase circulation, improve the skin’s appearance and
help prevent stress.
- Chaga—this parasite
to the Birch is thought to be good for humans. It can kill a
Birch in five to seven years and is known as “birch cancer”
in Russia. Still, this is considered one of the Russian adaptogens
because it is thought that this mushroom can help with hypertension
and diabetes. It has been used in Eastern European countries
since the 16th century to relieve issues like ulcers, gastritis
and more.
There are more varieties of Russian adaptogens
out there. Some of these other Russian adaptogens are also believed
to help people’s metabolism, cardiovascular system and beyond.
