Chaga
(Inonotus Obliquus): The King of Herbs
Chaga (inonotus obliquus),
which is a fungus or mushroom that grows on birch, is grown in the
wild in Russia. It is a parasite to these trees and usually kills
them within five to seven months. Ironically, although chaga (Inonotus
obliquus) is a parasite to birch, it is commonly used to try to
help people alleviate gastrointestinal issues like gastritis and
ulcers. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is thought to be one of the oldest
herbs used by humans as a form of medicine. Known in Asia as “the
king of herbs,” chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is also an adaptogen.
Adaptogens are thought to help the body and mind. Some use adaptogens
like chaga (Inonotus obliquus) to alleviate symptoms of depression,
anxiety, fatigue and stress. They are thought to bring the body
and mind some balance. Although chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is an
adaptogen that works well with the cardiovascular system, other
adaptogens can also help with your metabolism, lungs, kidneys, memory,
among other things. Many believe adaptogens have numerous benefits
like alleviating ulcers, jaundice, and even coughs and colds.
